I was born and spent my childhood in a small town in Nebraska. When not swimming in the pool across the street I played school & beauty shop with my friends. All of my dolls had WONDERFUL haircuts. After graduating from high school, I went to 2 years of college but knew that that wasn’t what I wanted to do so I went to beauty school. It was the right decision as I’m still at it after 55 years. I love the business, my fellow stylists, my clients and getting to know people from all walks of life. I should have taken notes from day 1 as I could have written a book of the good and bad experiences, stories, laughter, tears & knowledge. It has been an interesting and wonderful ride I will never forget. It is an industry where you get to know your clients very well and vice versa. That is unheard of in most industries. It’s not just about hair. It’s about helping people feel better about themselves when they walk out the door. This is my social life, the life I love. I am so appreciative of everyone that I have gotten to know over the years. I must love it as I am now 76+ years old and having a hard time even thinking about retirement. I know it’s going to happen at some point but I’m not ready to give into old age yet. To all stylists, I hope you all enjoy what you do as much as I do. To all clients, I’m hoping you all appreciate and love your stylists as much as they love you. I wish everyone love and happiness – and a great hair day.
